Join artist Alice Mary Lynch for a joyful day spent painting two of your own 'tree dancer' wooden decorations. Known for her whimsical works in paint, paper, and cloth, Alice draws inspiration from costume, fairy tales and nature’s circus.

In this hands-on workshop, Alice will guide you through the process of designing and painting a pair of festive decorations - with an emphasis on personality, play, and creativity, rather than perfection. From choosing colours and experimenting with costume and pattern design, to adding the finishing details, you’ll create unique, characterful pieces to take home or gift to a loved one this Christmas.

Alongside practical instruction, Alice will share her inspirations and approach to storytelling through craft and creativity in a way that grown-up life rarely allows. Bring your curiosity and enjoy a gentle, relaxing few hours of magic making.

All materials are provided to paint two wooden decorations to take home. A delicious seasonal lunch, tea, coffee and cake are all included.

Paints are provided by Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, who are on a mission to transform the paint industry with paints crafted from plant-based ingredients and coloured using the finest earth and mineral pigments, drawing directly from the natural world. Gift bags and colour charts will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: We kindly request that guests bring an apron to protect their clothes during the workshop.

ABOUT ALICE MARY LYNCH

Alice Mary Lynch is a UK-based illustrator, and textile artist with a background in fashion design. After many years working in Paris for designers such as John Galliano and Sonia Rykiel, she returned home to Somerset, where she now creates intricate works in paint, paper, wood and cloth. She designs seasonal collections and unique pieces, selling through stores such as Harrods and Fortnum & Mason. Each creation is rooted in imagination and a playful childhood nostalgia – “handmade to make your heart flutter, to lovingly watch over you, keep you safe, hold your hand, and pass on through future generations.”
