This autumn, we are celebrating the highly anticipated new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility with a special Fashion & Cinema event at The Soho Hotel. Join us in our private cinema for an exclusive screening on the weekend of its release, followed by an in-conversation between the film’s award-winning Costume Designer, Grace Snell and Founder of Fashion & Cinema, Joana Granero Sánchez.

Directed by Georgia Oakley and adapted by Diana Reid from Jane Austen’s classic novel, Sense and Sensibility, is a fresh and emotionally resonant exploration of love, sisterhood, and resilience.

When the Dashwood sisters (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles) are left financially vulnerable after their father’s death, they must navigate the strict social conventions of Regency England while searching for love and security. Practical, reserved Elinor and passionate, impulsive Marianne approach life and romance in very different ways, but each is forced to confront heartbreak, sacrifice, and the limits placed on women of their time.

Grace Snell’s costumes for the film bring Jane Austen’s world vividly to life with a fresh, contemporary sensibility. Balancing historical authenticity with emotional storytelling, her designs reflect each character’s personality and social standing, using colour and texture to subtly chart their emotional journeys throughout the film. During an insightful conversation, Grace will discuss the creative process behind her intricate costume design.

Make an evening of it by booking dinner with your ticket and joining us for a seasonal three-course menu at Refuel Restaurant after the talk.

Tickets are £35 per person / £70 per person including a three-course dinner at Refuel after the talk. All tickets include a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival.
