In the heart of South Kensington, Number Sixteen comes to life amidst the celebrations for RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with beautiful displays decorating the hotel and private garden, and floral treats served in The Orangery, there really is no better place to be. Our white stucco façade will be transformed by garden designer Sean A. Pritchard ahead of his talk at the hotel in June, with an installation inspired by the English garden – a tapestry of colour and texture waiting to greet you upon arrival.
In The Orangery, our chefs have crafted their own floral masterpiece in the form of a limited-edition afternoon tea. Take a seat in our intimate light-filled restaurant or in our leafy garden, surrounded by colourful hydrangeas and mulberry trees, and enjoy a specially designed menu featuring botanical twists on teatime classics. Just a leisurely twenty-minute walk from the show at Royal Hospital Chelsea, The Orangery is the perfect place to celebrate the season in full bloom.
Indulge in herbaceous savoury offerings such as stinging nettle and cheddar scones with goat’s curd and chive oil or nasturtium and chicken mayonnaise finger sandwiches.
In addition to the traditional fluffy scones with cream and preserves, we will be serving a floral assortment of sweets. Sample delicate flavours in intricately designed pastries and cakes, such as:
• Lemon verbena macaron
• Rhubarb and rose fondant fancy
• Ricotta, pickled strawberry and basil tartlet
• Chocolate, cherry and thyme choux bun
For those looking for an extra treat, celebrate the occasion with a seasonal cocktail of Italicus bergamot, berry compote, sparkling wine, London Essence soda, mint and orange.
