In partnership with Ultimate Library, award-winning writer and illustrator, Nick Butterworth will host the first Children's Book Salon in the intimate Rocklin Room at Haymarket Hotel.

Nick's books have been published in thirty languages worldwide. His hugely popular series of books about Percy The Park Keeper, has encouraged generations of children, especially in schools, to take an interest in the natural world around them.

During the book salon, Nick will tell some of his favourite stories and create live illustrations. Children will hear about Percy's adventures with his animal friends in One Springy Day, the latest book in the beloved series. This fun and interactive session will be entertaining for children and parents alike.

Following the book salon, guests can tuck into a special themed afternoon tea, with delicious treats inspired by Percy's own woodland park.

£20 per person including soft drinks, tea and coffee on arrival, interactive book salon and Percy The Park Keeper themed afternoon tea for children and adults.
Books will be available on the day to purchase and have signed.

All children need to be accompanied by an adult and all adults must be accompanied by a child.

About Nick Butterworth

Nick was born in London and grew up in a sweet shop in Essex. He worked for various major graphic design companies before becoming a full-time author and illustrator. Among his picture books are Thud!, QPootle5, Jingle Bells, Albert le Blanc, Tiger and The Whisperer, winner of the Nestlé Gold Award. But he is best known for his stories about Percy the Park Keeper, which have sold more than 9 million copies worldwide. Percy has also appeared in his own television series.

Nick is a frequent speaker at book festivals such as Edinburgh, Oxford, Cheltenham and The Hay Festival where his presentations, which include storytelling and live drawing, often to several hundred parents and children, regularly generate signing sessions of several hours. Nick is also highly sought after as a visiting speaker in schools where his aim is to inspire a love of books and reading.
