Join Kit Kemp, co-founder of Firmdale Hotels and Kit Kemp Design Studio, for a special evening in conversation with broadcaster and journalist Emma Barnett.

Taking place at Ham Yard Hotel, the evening offers a glimpse into more than four decades of creativity and Kit’s remarkable career in design. Kit will share insights into her current collaborations and collections, alongside an exclusive look at what lies ahead - from the opening of a new Firmdale hotel near The British Museum in 2027 to a host of exciting new creative projects.

Together, Kit and Emma will explore the thinking behind some of Kit’s most celebrated interiors, from her commissioning of unique pieces by artists and makers to her fearless use of colour, pattern and unexpected combinations. They will discuss her belief in individuality over trends, and the distinctive design language that has inspired designers and hotels around the world.

PLEASE NOTE: Arrivals are welcome from 5:30pm before the talk begins at 6pm. The talk will last approximately 40 minutes and will be followed by a Q&A. Kit will also be signing copies of her new book 'Design Stories'.

Emma Barnett is an award winning broadcaster and journalist. Named Interviewer of the Year at the British Journalism awards and twice speech radio presenter by the Radio Academy, she presents BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today Programme and hosts TV interviews and documentaries across the BBC. Previously she was the chief presenter of Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4, and has presented Newsnight, as well as her eponymous BBC Radio 5 Live programme.
