Rachel and her partner Sean Carmody worked closely with two friends and collaborators, Brooklyn-based architect Elizabeth Roberts and San Francisco-based interior designer Charles De Lisle, to restore and transform the rare single story building on Crosby Street.
Much like the collections themselves, the store was designed through the exploration of materials and textures. Traditionally masculine materials such as concrete and stone are softened with curved brass racks and walls of custom shag carpet. The centrally located shoe display was made with stones from their denim wash facility combined with stones from their favourite beach, and pastel hued slabs of travertine. Softening the space are bulging leather poofs, contained by fastened straps of rich leather.
After 14 years of working and living in the neighborhood, Rachel Comey and her team are excited to open their doors to both old customers and new, sharing what they hope will be an enriching and inspiring experience.
