FIRMDALE ART walks at haymarket hotel
SATURDAY 19th OCTOBER
Firmdale Hotels are giving art enthusiasts a guided tour of Haymarket Hotel. Find out how to collect and successfully hang art, making it fun and interesting within a living space.
Creative Director, Kit Kemp’s passion for art is present within the interior design of all Firmdale Hotels with famous artists juxtaposed beside up-and-coming ones. Artworks at Haymarket Hotel include Sir Tony Cragg’s fluid stainless steel sculpture, a striking monochrome painting by the artist, John Virtue and a 22-foot-long installation of tiny stones by Sue Lawty in the hotel's lobby. Downstairs in the impressive pool area there is a spectacular lighting scheme that uses strong contrasts of light and shadow and an ever-changing colourful light installation by Martin Richman.
Visitors will be guided through Kit’s personally chosen art collection, before journeying on an intimate walking tour to some of Mayfair and St James' most prestigious galleries, led by Firmdale Art Ambassador Olivia Paterson.
The walk will end back at the hotel, where guests can choose to enjoy a delicious three-course set menu lunch or Afternoon Tea in Brumus Bar & Restaurant.
£99 per person, including walking tour and three-course lunch from a set menu or Afternoon Tea
Walks last approximately 2.5 hours followed by set menu lunch or Afternoon Tea. Each walking tour will operate with a maximum of 12 guests but a minimum number of 6 guests must book in order for the tour to go ahead.
Olivia Paterson is the curator of Firmdale Art Walks and is the Firmdale Arts Ambassador.
