Winemaker Dinner: Domaine Marcel Deiss, Alsace, France
Monday 6 April at 7PM
AT COVENT GARDEN HOTEL
Domaine Marcel Deiss is located in Bergheim, a small village nestled in the heart of Alsace, in north-eastern France. Jean-Michel Deiss, the current winemaker and owner, was born into a long-established family of wine growers, living in Bergheim since 1744. The domaine consists of 26 hectares of hillside vineyards spread over 9 communes and approximately 20 kilometres.
Jean-Michel Deiss's wines are without doubt among the most exciting of the region. His experimental field blends (in the wines he likes to call 'level of Premier Cru') are immensely impressive. Each wine has a definite and unique character, placing them among some of the most fascinating white wines in the world.
Winemaker Marie-Helene Christofaro, will host the evening in the elegant Lyric and Fortune Rooms. The evening will begin with a glass of wine with canapés followed by a three-course seasonal dinner, paired with a hand-picked selection of Domaine Marcel Deiss wines.
Guests are invited to arrive for drinks and canapés at 7pm before dinner at 7.30pm.
