Artist In Conversation With Antonia Showering
Tuesday 12 November, 6.00Pm For A 6:30Pm Start
at Charlotte Street Hotel

On Tuesday 12th November, join us for an In Conversation with internationally recognised artist, Antonia Showering in the Drawing Room at Charlotte Street Hotel. In this special event, the artist will discuss her artworks, technique and recent exhibitions with Firmdale Art Ambassador, Olivia Paterson.

Antonia Showering is known for her bold oil paintings that capture the fleeting nature of emotional memory. Her paintings morph memories, landscapes and encounters, blending themes of reality and fantasy. Showering’s paintings depict figures that reflect her own family, friends and lovers, set in half remembered, half invented landscapes influenced by her upbringing in England, Switzerland and China.

Showering’s use of colour is influenced by the Bloomsbury Group, with burnt oranges, yellows, greens and reds. During the talk her paintings will be displayed alongside Charlotte Street Hotel’s own collection of original Bloomsbury artworks, including pieces by Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Roger Fry.

Places for the Q&A are £20 including welcome drink. The event will take place in the Drawing Room at Charlotte Street Hotel.

If you would make a dinner reservation in Oscar Bar & Restaurant following the event please call 020 7980 1007 or email
