HAYMARKET HOTEL PRESENTS
ARTIST IN CONVERSATION WITH CARLA KRANENDONK
TUESDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER, DOORS 6PM; TALK 6.30PM
Join us in the Library at Haymarket Hotel for an In Conversation with contemporary Dutch-born artist, Carla Kranendonk who will discuss her colourful art works with Firmdale Art Ambassador, Olivia Paterson.
Carla Kranendonk's paintings, which can be found throughout Firmdale Hotels, are informed by her travels to West Africa and combine vivid brushwork with hand-embroidered paper collage, as well as photographic elements. As disparate textile patterns are juxtaposed with screen-printed textures, her mixed media works come to represent a travelogue of collected images and memories, reinforced by the frequent use of photographs of the artist and her family members. Large in format, Kranendonk's works are authentic in their composition and playful in their manipulation of perspective.
Places for the Q&A are £20 including welcome drink. The event will take place in the Library at Haymarket Hotel.
Haymarket Hotel, 1 Suffolk Place, London SW1Y 4HX
