    Côtes du Rhône with Chêne Bleu 
    at Covent Garden Hotel

    Join us at Covent Garden Hotel for a Côtes du Rhône Winemaker Dinner on 14th October hosted by Nicole Rolet owner of Chêne Bleu Estate. 

    The high-altitude Chêne Bleu vineyard in Southern Rhône, located in the Dentelles de Montmirail, is situated in a restored medieval priory at the southern border of Gigondas in Provence and is the magnum opus of Nicole Rolet and her husband Xavier who have lovingly renovated this medieval estate and vineyard, which is located on a UNESCO recognised site.

    This family owned single estate make meticulously handcrafted wines in tiny quantities, no more than 600 cases of each wine. The terroir here is special: The 30 hectare vineyard is the highest in the region, and one of the highest in the South of France, at 550-630m. The resulting cool nights and late harvest bring a highly desirable Northern-Rhône style freshness to the Southern-Rhône rich concentration of fruit and tannin. Described as the world’s first “Super Rhône”, Chêne Bleu has been garnering praise since its debut vintage, with Wine Spectator’s James Molesworth calling the winery “one of the most exciting new projects to come along in the Southern Rhône since I have been covering the region” and leading French wine critic Michel Bettane proclaiming “the birth of a Grand Cru.” 

    Enjoy a welcome glass of wine with canapés before a three-course dinner in the stunning surroundings of the hotel's Fortune and Lyric Rooms with a hand-picked selection of Chêne Bleu wines will be showcased.  During the evening guests will sample their Viognier, Vin de Pays de Vaucluse, Chêne Bleu, 2016, Rosé, Ventoux, Chêne Bleu, 2018, Astralabe, Ventoux, Chêne Bleu, 2015 and Abelard, Vin de Pays de Vaucluse, Chêne Bleu, 2010.

    The Winemaker Dinner is £60 per person including canapés and three-course dinner with wine pairings.
    Guests are invited to arrive for drinks and canapes at 7pm before dinner at 7.30pm.
